Despite unfavourable weather, yesterday we managed to complete the full set of quarterfinals. The court crew once again did a fantastic job, and the fans were treated to a full dose of emotions ahead of the decisive weekend of the 49th Wojciech Fibak Grand Prix.
In singles, several of our representatives secured their places in the semifinals. Tymon Litwic won his quarterfinal confidently and maintained his excellent run, while in the girls’ event Maja Wróbel and Nadia Affelt advanced to the final four. The red-and-white colours are still strongly present in the main draws.
The real sensation, however, came from the Poznań doubles pair: Zofia Janusz and Anna Skorupska eliminated the No. 1 seeds and stormed into medal contention. It was one of those moments that make our tournament so worth following - a reminder that local players can beat even the highest-ranked favourites.
