Despite the unpredictable, rainy weather that kept the organisers on edge throughout the weekend, on Sunday evening at the AZS Poznań courts we finally learned the singles champions of the 49th Wojciech Fibak Grand Prix. The final day fully rewarded the fans for the challenges of a week repeatedly interrupted by rain.
The girls’ final was an all-Polish clash, with No. 2 seed Nadia Affelt coming out on top against Maja Wróbel winning 6-3, 6-4. It was the perfect conclusion to an excellent tournament for both players, whose paths to the final led them past some of the strongest opponents in the draw.

M. Wróbel [5]34In the boys’ event, Tymon Litwic impressed in outstanding style throughout the entire tournament. In the final, our representative confidently defeated the No. 8 seed, American Michael Savano 6–2, 6–2, leaving his opponent in no doubt as to who deserved the title.

M. Savano [8]22Huge congratulations to all the winners and finalists, and our thanks go to the umpires, volunteers and the reliable court crew, who spent the entire week battling the weather for every ball played. We also thank the fans – it is thanks to you that the “Wojtek Fibak Grand Prix” has its unique atmosphere.
And a year from now, a very special event awaits us – the jubilee 50th Grand Prix. See you on the courts!
